What if your next 5K came with a free $3.50 to spend? That's exactly what's happening at the Pakelang Run in New Taipei on October 17. It's not just a race—it's a full-on cultural festival with a side of savings. ### The Scoop on the Pakelang Run Pakelang is an Amis word for a post-fishing celebration, and this event lives up to that spirit. Expect a lively atmosphere with traditional performances, hands-on cultural activities, and a market bursting with local eats and crafts. And yes, there's a run involved, but it's more about community than competition. ### Your $3.50 Coupon: Small but Mighty Here's the deal: the first batch of runners gets a limited-edition New Taipei Coin coupon worth NT$100—about $3.50 USD. It's not a fortune, but it's enough to grab a snack or a small souvenir at the market. Think of it as a little thank-you for showing up. ### More Than Just a Race Even if you're not running, there's plenty to do. Try your hand at traditional crafts, watch performances, or just wander through the market. It's a great way to spend a Saturday, whether you're flying solo or bringing the whole family. ### Why You Should Care Look, we're all about stretching a dollar. And while $3.50 might not seem like much, it's the principle—free money is free money. Plus, you get to experience a unique cultural event. That's a win-win. So mark your calendar for October 17. Lace up your shoes, bring your appetite for fun, and don't forget to claim your coupon. It's first come, first served, so get there early. ### The Bottom Line Events like this remind us that savings can pop up in unexpected places. You don't always need a promo code—sometimes, just showing up is enough. So go, enjoy the run, and pocket that coupon. Your wallet (and your cultural curiosity) will thank you. --- *Pro tip: Keep an eye on local event listings for more hidden perks like this. They're out there—you just have to know where to look.*
